Walmart

I have always loved Walmart. Since working there in college to spending at least 1/5 of my income on buying good cheap products. I thought this was a good article on Walmart's support of Hurricane Katrina. I know that some of this was for public relations, but it was more than many other groups did.

Politics

The more I watch American politics the more I ask, how much should I get involved? I am convinced now that I will never enter into politics, but think the Christian voice needs to be heard. Just not sure how to go about that the most effective way. But I did think this was a neat quote I found on Roxy's blog.

When I get little

Avery has had several milestones in the last couple of weeks. She is now potty-trained. She has given up her "paci". I have been the one to put her to bed, it is a good time to spend time with her and she is able to catch me up on what she did that day. The first night I put her to bed without her pacifier was a little rough. When she finally calmed down she said "when I get little again I can have my paci". I kind of brushed it off and moved on. The last few nights she had been saying that several times and I said "Avery, you will never get little again. You are going to keep on getting bigger".

She responded the other night by saying "that makes me sad". The more I think about her never getting little again it makes me kind of sad too.

Does his minister hurt him bad in this election? How is he handling the "race" issue? What do you think of his minister, another Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton?

Top 10 worst places to use a public bathroom

I cannot speak for women, but recently I have had to use the bathroom in some pretty nasty places. Here is my new list:

10. Foreign country bathrooms

9. Woods

8. Malls

7. Fast food resteraunts

6. Any Mexican resteraunt.

5. Airplanes / Busses

4. School Bathrooms (high/middle schools)

Since we had such a good amount of discussion, which has remained very civil. I thought instead of another comment I'd do another blog, so here it is...

Jason I would agree that Israel is a theocracy not a democracy and there was/is quite a difference. However, I think we need a type of safety net welfare system. Teaching economics I have done some (not alot) of research as to where our tax money goes. Here are some stats: Which may or may not be made up :)

1) Since 1950 we have spent less than half (percentage wise) on military/police/fire

2) Since 1950 we have remained the same in most other areas with two major exceptions....

3) We now spend 4 times as much (again this is percentage wise) in expenses for the poor.

4) We also now spend 4 times as much on paying off interest from the incredible amount of debt from the government. Which leads me to say:

Why trust the government to "fix" the healthcare problem??

Birthday surprise

My wife surprised me at chuch last night with a birthday party. I really did not see it coming, and it was a nice surprise. Now if I could just get that year of my life back...
