Yes, the college repubs were making a point. Yes, it does seem bass ackwards to discriminate in the the name of anti-discrimination. Why the student senate is making such a big deal about it? Beats me.

It seems to be many angry words about nothing. But if it makes folks on both sides think and defend their position, it is probably a worth-while exercise. Truth usually wins in fair, reasonable discourse. That is likely to continue even if the restrictions are passed.

I think the College Repubs made a great point and the school senate is overloaded with Liberal Democrats that would like to punish them. . . . mamakat

I think it's a real problem that people need to realize. In the company I work for, they will not hire you if you're a white straight out of college male (and qualified) if there is a qualified "diversity candidate". It's ridiculous and someone needs to start bringing it up. Companies and scholarship programs have diversity quotas that they have to fill and I understand why it was important 5-10 years ago, but I think it needs to be addressed again. When you're in the corporate workplace and you see it every day, it really starts to get on your nerves.

Yorks: And it makes everyone question everytime a minority is hired, even if they were the best candidate for the job.
