Politics

The more I watch American politics the more I ask, how much should I get involved? I am convinced now that I will never enter into politics, but think the Christian voice needs to be heard. Just not sure how to go about that the most effective way. But I did think this was a neat quote I found on Roxy's blog.

"Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber."

The principle from Plato's quote also applies to management and other areas. I have seen it (and experienced it) in my workplace.

Kenny, I totally understand the feeling, I've always wanted to find some way to contribute and make a Christian voice heard, but struggled to find the right path. Still working on it! But, did you know that for every letter you write your senator or representative they count it as if 1,000 shared your same opinion. Imagine what would happen if a whole church decided to act on an issue by emailing or writing to Congress...for an average church, that's at least 300,000 opinions...seems pretty powerful to me.

Perhaps the Christian perspective would be easier to communicate to the populus if it wasn't always unnecessarily attached to a certain political party.

Well...it made sense in my head...

Ugh, it hurts my head when I try to decide how to make political decisions as a Christian! Especially with the upcoming presidential election...
