I recently had a student ask me what my favorite sport was. It was a rather easy question for me to answer (football), but it got me to thinking what the next sports would be. Track, Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball?? I am not sure.
The more I thought about it the more I began to wonder if football was my favorite. I enjoy coaching Football the most, but may have enjoyed playing Basketball the most. My favorite to watch is football, although nothing beats March Madness. So I guess I really am torn about which is my favorite...
What is your favorite?

hands down, no question, my favorite sport is football. i love to watch it and play it, although these days I get a lot more opportunities to watch than play. I always look forward to football season, and any chance I get to play.
I like to play basketball and softball, but I love me some football :)
1. Baseball is, unquestionably, superior to all other sports. It's my favorite to read about, analyze or watch (if we're talking about the Braves).
2. Basketball is way fun to play, and I enjoy watching March Madness more than anything, except for the Braves in the playoffs.
3. Ultimate Frisbee (snide remarks expected) is my favorite sport to play, but that is largely because I am competitive at it at a higher level than other sports. As a spectator sport, it has its shortcomings.
4. Football.
5. I'm trying to learn to appreciate soccer, but so far have had mixed results.
6. Track & Field events are exciting to watch, but it's not a team sport in the same way as the others which downgrades it some in my opinion.
7. Beyond that, most other sports are novelties, though I do like watching a lot of Olympic Sports (speed skating, skiing, swimming, etc.).
Luke: I was waiting for you to list curling as a sport.
I guess I'd go
Football
Basketball
Track and Field
Volleyball
Ping Pong
Softball (just because I stink at it)
All others
Hello! Volleyball is number one! :)
Luke, you and I are kindred spirits. Baseball is my mistress. All other sports are interesting distractions for me.
Any other ultimate frisbee fans out there? :)
Cycling. The Tour is the most difficult sporting event in the history of sports, like running a marathon every day for three weeks. It is a team sport, which most people do not realize. It is a gentleman's sport, as evidenced by Lance several years ago, when he and his chief rival were going back and forth all day, and his rival crashed. Lance slowed down, waited for Ulrich to get back on his bike and catch up, and they went back at it again. And because all the other riders respect the yellow jersey, the rest of the field waited with him. Cycling is an awesome sport.
That's easy. Bowling. :-) But obviously not because I am good at it, because I'm not, but I just really enjoy it. Oh and I do like frisbee golf. Is that anything like Ultimate Frisbee? What is Ultimate Frisbee anyway?
