This picture was on the front of the USA Today Newspaper. What is ironic is that if the picture were to have been taken about 5 seconds later, the little girl would probably be asking the American soldiers for some candy or food. The obvious intent would be to show that our military is over there terrorizing little children. I would hope that even those opposed to our presence would know that our military men are over there protecting the innocent and that it is the enemy that is setting bombs to blow up civilians, use children as protection, and kill all in their path. Unfortunately, I know that is not the case as many are now finding ways of making our military the one that "forced" the terrorists to act the way the do now. Hopefully, pictures like these will not be used much more.

And you know what, Kenny? Most Americans will buy into it. They figure that if its in the paper or on television, it must be true. People just don't know how to think for themselves.
A few years ago when I worked in radio, some people put together a spoof commercial for a mythical upcoming concert. Resurrection Band, with opening act Evie. Remember them? The tag line at the end was "Bring an unsaved friend, and keep him guessing."
People by the score called in and wanted to buy tickets.
That picture accompanied an article describing the results of a poll of 2200 Iraqis, from the Slate summary:
An ABC News survey in 2005 found that 57 percent of Iraqis say they want a democracy; that number has now gone down to 43 percent. Meanwhile, 94 percent of Sunnis and 51 percent of Shiites said that attacking U.S. troops is an acceptable political act. Although 83 percent of Shiites and 97 percent of Sunnis oppose the presence of coalition troops in Iraq (75 percent of Kurds support them), only 35 percent of Iraqis think U.S. forces should leave immediately.
Many different photos would be apropos for accompanying such an article, but that particular one doesn't seem inappropriate to me.
And you can always find someone saying anything, but I'd be interested to see some examples of the biased media or some other reputable source claiming the soldiers are "forcing" terrorists to do their acts of terror.
The most important statistic: 85% of statistics are made up :)
My favorite is when liberals pretend that the only example of media bias is Fox News.
or when Fox News calls itself "fair and balanced".
