It’s great to be a Florida Gator, said it’s great to be a Florida Gator. What a time to be a Gator fan. Two championships for basketball and one for football in a year. Can’t go anywhere but down from here. Last night was a beat-down and a way to prove Florida had the best team. I was impressed with Oden (although I found it ironic that Florida was called for several “touch fouls” against him, but didn’t see the same type of calls at the other end) but who cares in the end anyway.I think one of the commentators hit the nail on the head in the pre-game when he was talking about Lee Humphrey. He said “If that guy is fifth on the scouting report it is no wonder Florida is almost unbeatable”. What was great was the way the Florida guards completely outplayed OSU’s. Brewer was the Most Outstanding Player, but the award could have easily gone to Horton.
Now what will Florida do. First things first, they better go to Donovan and offer whatever it takes to keep him in G
ainesville and out of Lexington. They had a few returnee’s look pretty good last night (Green, Hodge and the freshman big man), but need to get another class like the one leaving to play in the NBA next season.My prediction on NBA picks (Brewer: top 5, Horton: top 10, Noah: top 15, Richards: second round, Humphrey: NBADL). I hope Green comes back, I don’t see him as quite ready for that level of basketball.
Now lets get ready for some football…

Congratulations on the victory. Florida was clearly the better team, and it really helps having a 6'9" perimeter defender like Brewer who can shut down big time players like Aflalo and Ron Lewis.

True statement with the exception of Mike Conley Jr., who is clearly a step above Green. 20 points, 6 assists (against 2 TOs) and 4 steals; this guy is going to be scary next year.
Green is a good shooter and solid playmaker, but isn't ready (at all) for the NBA and should stay.
Either way, it will be nice next year to not have to see the Gator chomp after the first weekend in March; it's getting tiresome.
While I agree Conley is a solid player, Green may be as good as him (NBA-wise). Conley must learn to shoot from the outside. In the NBA he will not (as a 6'1 guard) be able to get to the rim and finish as easy as he has (with no one leaving Oden).
Green can shoot much better. And though he must get better at taking the ball inside. His shot makes him a better prospect (3-3 last night). But he needs to come back to FLA for another year to get ready.
I basically agree with you. If Conley improves his shot (he is just a freshman), he could be a lottery pick (this coming from "experts" not from me).
I think it could be especially good for Green to play a year when Brewer, Noah and Horford aren't around, to see how he reacts to being the primary offensive option.
That should help him, or expose his weaknesses. I really think Hodge will be good next year as well as the freshman that played last night.
