Recently some of the guys at Vaughn Park and myself have come up with the idea to try to play flag football in Faulkner's intermural program. Many of us played flag football through college and would like the chance to see just how much slower we have become. Personally I know I am sure to be disapointed when I break into the open, only to be run down by some younger legs. I think we are going to call ourselves the Omega Mu club or "OM" for Old Men if we get the chance to play.
Some of my favorite memories are of playing intermurals at Harding. My club was always one of the better football clubs. Not only memories of glory for my club (although you need to ask Jon about the time I caught and flipped him the ball for a TD in a game, or the "hail mary" I caught to beat a rival club), but many of my memories are of coaching Jamey's club. We only had one or two good players and most of our strategy consited of getting the ball to Jamey in about 20 different ways. She also had a play where she laid into a girl that probably doubled her weight and "decleated" her. Nice, that's my girl.

You look so young in that picture! That's the Kenny I fell in love with!
I didn't mean to lay that girl out. I was just trying to get in her way so we could score. She just happened to run into me. ;)
I was young in that picture (21 I think). She did not run into you chasing down another girl. That is what we football coaches/players call a "crack-back".
Ahh yes the ole' pitch and catch. That is definetly a classic.
I don't what was better the hail mary catch or the juke to get the guy to fall down, I think his jock is still on the field.
Well, whatever it was, I got a foul called on me. And all the football guys on the sidelines were proud.
You remember the glory plays, but there are also some dangerous plays resulting in broken arms, if I remember correctly.
Jon: They always fall for the fake the pitch move.
Jamey: I believe I played in the next game...
thanks to flag football and its injuries I now know the most intimate details of Kenny's antatomy.
Morphine is still my excuse...And I would say community showers at HU should have told you that before the hospital bed.
Robert Cook said when he visited HU they turned keller into suites - no more community showers.
So glad girls don't have to deal with the 'community' part of showers.
No more shower time, that is a draw back. I still remember making fun of the guys that went in the shower fully dressed and you saw clothes fly over the shower curtain.
Seriously how are the pledges supposed to come serenade us and hold our towels and shampoo?
Pledge week is not what we had to deal with.
YOU PLAYED IN THE NEXT GAME??? Somehow I don't remember you telling me THAT detail, young man.
Yo Mama
Mama has a blog now - be gentle!

He's forgetting that he did not play in the very next game. He was in the hospital for surgery, then recovery...(games continued even though he wasn't there)..but he did play soon after.
I was pretty mad at him...told him his parents wouldn't appreciate if he got hurt even more after their insurance just footed the bill.
Oh well.
Mom: Nice blog, I'll put a link to it here.
Jamey: The doctor had cleared me.
The doctor may have cleared you, but your arm was still gaping open in parts. :) Yuck!
I had it wrapped up, who cares if you could see the bone when they took the 21 STAPLES out of my arm.
The doctor may have cleared you but your MOTHER did not!
That was the first time you had gotten seriously hurt and I couldn't be there. You'd never had surgery and I was so scared. Your doctor called me right before and right after the surgery, he was awesome. . . . remind me to hug you again at christmas. I love you, baby, MamaKat
OK Kenny, seriously you got on my nerves as a coach, but you did teach me pretty much everything I know about football...Brandon got all nostalgic too when he read this...fun times :)
